So they continue to feel confident they know how to do their role.
The need (in EFA) for annual assessments and for renewing qualifications at least every three years is justified in maintaining skill levels, but there is no reliable process or resourcing put into to making it happen. The whole process relies on individual volunteers flagging up their need (assuming they even realise it), and this is extremely inefficient and wasteful of training resource.
This is a major reason for us losing large numbers of volunteers at the end of the first year, and then more after three years.
