Training should be local

As a potential Volunteer who has just thrown the towel in due to lack of local training, the requirement to travel long distances is a barrier for new recruits. Use digital classrooms/Webex conferencing and remove the costly need for long distance travelling.

Yes my nearest foundation training was 2.5-3 hours away. Also please ensure that the training buildings are fit for purpose. The tower bridge site in London where I had two full days of training, had no windows and the toilets and kitchens were not clean. The site (outside the building) was full of old furniture and rubbish. Kitchen too small for us to make a drink with a big team and no milk. Trainers were good, but I felt embarrassed for them having to teach in such a venue. Not the best welcome to the BRC!
