Change attitudes towards volunteers within the organisation.

There is a widespread conviction that volunteers should be icing on the cake. Include volunteer numbers in resource planning. make resources conditional on good volunteering recruitment. Make it clear that the present and future financial situation will not allow to recruit enough paid staff and volunteers need to fill in this gap. Use volunteers as a potential source of donations after they leave. Keep in touch, create a post-volunteering association. Learn from the universities.
